Glacier Country Helicopters is a local family, owned and operated company. Husband and wife duo Poppy and Gus Gordon who are both commercial pilots started the company in 2014. You’ll find them at the hangar or flying one our helicopters most days.

Our friendly team are certified Qualmark Gold, have received the Traveller’s Choice Award several years and look forward to showing you the glaciers, rainforests and mountains that form our incredible back yard.

Restrictions

Weight Restrictions:
All passengers and any gear will be weighed at check in. If you are 120kg or over, you will be required to book a comfort seat (the cost is half the RRP of your flight).
Front Seat or Executive Helicopter upgrade requests cannot be made when booking a discounted seat
Age and Weight Restrictions:
Infants are up to 3 years (maximum weight of 15KG)
Children 4-17 years (or 16KGs and over)
Health Restrictions:
Do you have limited mobility e.g. injury, arthritis, or recent surgery? There are two high ladder style steps into the helicopter. This information could affect what helicopter you fly you in.Please let us know as you proceed through checkout.

Bad Weather Refunds

If your experience is cancelled by the operator (because of the bad weather, safety concerns, unscheduled maintenance etc) you will be entitled to a full refund.

Notes

Flights require a minimum of 4 pax to depart. Solo travellers & smaller bookings are welcomed, and we will aim to pair you up with another booking.
Bad weather refunds:If your experience is cancelled by the operator (due to weather) you will be entitled to a full refund. Your booking is only valid for the time & route you have booked. If the flight time or route you booked is unable to go ahead your booking will not be able to be rescheduled or transferred to an alternative route or flight time.
Snow Landing:All routes and snow landings are subject to change at short notice including during the flight. If you are unable to snow land due to weather conditions and your flight is turned into an overflight (total time will be reduced by your snow landing time) you will be refunded the landing fee of $30 per person.
Cancellation policy:All bookings are non-transferable and cancellations must be made 24hours in advance or 100% cancellation fee will apply.

Amazing

Absolutely loved our helicopter ride. Great communication, the team messaged us the day before to advise us the weather is better early in the day and asked if we were able to make an earlier time slot, we were and were so grateful, as the weather did take a turn. We were so lucky to be able to land, it was the best 35 mins.

The flight in heli was magic. The view was incredible on the landscapes, the mountains and the glaciers since the helicopter. The landing on the glavier was a moment so ouf. Thanks Poppy for the heli trip

Amazing

An amazing experience. The staff were all so friendly and professional. We had Poppy as our pilot. It is nice that it’s a family run business too! We got very lucky with the weather so can’t comment on Bookme.co.nz refunds process but bear in mind helicopter experiences can be cancelled after booking due to unsuitable weather for flying.

Definitely worth it

Came on a pretty cloudy day but the second you go above the clouds you can see everything. It was beautiful, the pilot gave information throughout the flight and we got to play in the snow for a bit.
